What Exactly is the Anesthetic Drug, Why We Use?

Anesthesia is a medical treatment that uses drugs to block pain during surgery or other medical procedures. It can also be used to help relieve pain from other medical conditions. There are different types of anesthetics drugs and they work in different ways. Some common types of anesthetic drugs include general anesthetics, regional anesthetics, and local anesthetics.

General anesthetics are drugs that cause anesthesia (loss of feeling and awareness) all over the body. These drugs are usually given through an IV, and they work very quickly. Regional anesthetics are drugs that numb a specific area of the body. They can be injected into the spine, muscles, or nerves. These drugs can also be given as a continuous IV infusion.

Local Anesthetics Drugs that numb a small area of the body. They are usually injected into the area where the surgery will be done. These drugs work very quickly and only last for a short time.
